Holly Heidt


originally from Bloomington, Indiana, Holly studied dance and literature at Oberlin College. She is artistic director of Muliebris Dance Theatre along with Samantha Bergman and Cristina Gustaitis. Holly’s choreography has headlined at Spectrum, The Tank, and Trans Pecos, with additional performances at The Living Gallery, Roseland Ballroom, The Invisible Dog, Team Gallery, and Spoke the Hub. She has danced for choreographers such as Jeff Davis, Eva Dean, Trina Mannino, Elizabeth Mulkey, and Rachel Cohen. Dancing for Vashti Dance Theatre continues to be a great pleasure.

Yasmin Venable


is from Harlem, New York City and began her dance training in the Rod Rodgers Dance Company Youth Program. Shortly after she attended the Talent Unlimited High School while simultaneously attending The School at Steps, Dance Theatre of Harlem and Manhattan Youth Ballet. After graduating Ms. Venable attended The Ailey School for two years on a level two scholarship. Ms. Venable performed at The Joyce Theater in the premier cast of the All-City Panorama with The Martha Graham Dance Company. As well as performed with Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater as a Revelations 50 Cast Member

Whitney Janis


New York City-based dancer Whitney Janis has appeared as a guest artist with Dance Visions NY, Buggé Ballet, Peabody Dance, and Earl Mosley's Diversity of Dance; and has performed at Lincoln Center, the Ailey Citigroup Theater, The Landmark Loew's Jersey Theater, and in Piobbico, Italy. She received her professional training at The Ailey School (2018). She is on faculty at The Dance Source and was previously an assistant ballet instructor in Ailey's Junior Division Program. Whitney has an undergraduate degree in Writing Seminars from Johns Hopkins University and is a founding member of the Hopkins contemporary dance group Jaywalk.

Jasmine Mattar


from Queens, New York, is a recent graduate with a BFA in Dance from the State University of New York at Fredonia. During that time she performed in the Fredonia Dance Ensemble for the past four years and was cast as a Kit Kat Girl in the Walter Gloor Mainstage Series, Cabaret. She is very excited to start her professional career in New York City with VashtiDance Theater.

Misaki Hayama


Misaki Hayama was born and raised Tokyo in Japan. She graduated Saitama Prefectures High School of Arts and attended Japan University College of Art Dancing Course.

She had worked as a dancer in “the Lion King” and “A Chorus Line” in Japan.

2015, she moved to New York and started training at Alvin Ailey School as a full scholarship student. She performed at Apollo Theatre also worked with Obediah Wright in musical “Night Songs” at New York Theater of Actors, She also worked with George William Faison in Gospel Festival as a guest dancer at Prudential Center.

Keanna Faulkner


" Keanna-Angelique Faulkner was born and raised in Queens, New York. She began her dance training at the age of 7 at the Precise Dance Studio in Sunnyside, Queens under the tutelage of Tina Williams.

She is a 2014 graduate of Talent Unlimited High School, NYC, where she studied ballet with Wilehimina Frankfurt and modern dance with Victroianne Capiello, and interned at the Martha Graham School. She has studied with Manhattan Youth Ballet, Dance Theatre of Harlem, and LINES Ballet.

This is her first season with VashtiDance Theater" 

James Riggins


Harlem Based musician experienced in World Percussion, Doundounba set and Djembe. 

Leah Moriarty


Leah Moriarty received her BFA in Dance at the University of Massachusetts -Amherst. She has performed with choreographers Kellie Lynch, Donna Mejia, Shalewa Mackall, Ni'Ja Whitson, Souleymane Badolo, Joya Powell, Brendan Drake, Fatima Logan and Rosangela Silvestre. Her own work has been presented throughout New York, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, New Jersey and California. This past year, she was an artist participating in the New Victory LabWorks program at the New Victory Theater in New York City as well as at Spector Dance in Marina, California.

Morgan Bryant


Morgan Bryant began studying ballet at the Shellman Dance Academy. It was there the foundation of technical training was instilled in Morgan. In the summer of 2005, Morgan earned a scholarship to attend Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater's junior division program for the next four following years. After her time expired at Alvin Ailey, she then was offered a scholarship to attend Dance Theatre of Harlem for the next three and a half years. Morgan then went onto attend Mason Gross School of the Arts program at Rutgers University to earn her BFA in dance. There she was able to perform repertoire work from influential choreographers such as Sam Pott from Nimbus, and Camille A. Brown just to name a few. Since graduating Morgan has had the opportunity work with the cast of Philadelphia Opera's We Shall Not Be Moved, Martita Goshen's Sanctuary. She has worked with collective and companies such as The Sabrosura Effect, Bon Bon Burlesque and more just to name a few. This is her first Season with Vashti Dance Theater. 

Martin Borromeo


Martin Richard Borromeo is thrilled to join the company of VashtiDance Theater. Martin Richard, a freelance movement artist and actor, is currently Resident Choreographer with Sining Kapuluan, a Philippine Arts Collective based in New York City. Credits: Passages at Fly-by-Night Dance Theater's Airborne Festival (2018 Aerial Scholarship Awardee), Narrator in Conscious at the New York Theater Festival, Living with Water with Civic Ensemble, Parangal Dance Company's European Tour (Soloist), From Refugee to Project at the FURYfactory: Festival of Devised and Ensemble Theater, and Monty Python's Spamalot at the Cider Mill Playhouse.
